The small mundane yet profound things in life inspire me. The humorous superficiality of making everyday objects ... tools, fast food, souvenirs, household utensils. The irreverence of putting them on pedestals, thus making them icons.
As we all sit on tenterhooks and mourn the loss around us, it is comforting to look forward to the opportunity to hear incredibly moving music performed by some of the greatest chamber musicians alive, the American String Quartet.
If nothing else, musicians – and music lovers – possess perseverance, and these concerts on THURSDAY, JUNE 2 and FRIDAY JUNE 3 are a testament to “the show must go on!”
Beloved by Taos – and the world – the Americans will be playing two different programs at the Taos Community Auditorium. A belatedBeethoven birthday celebration is up first on Thursday. The Friday program includes music by Mozart, Brahms, Shostakovich and George Walker. Read more here.
