David Douglas, Shuttering Experiences
Award winning photographer, David Douglas has been taking photographs since 1967. With his camera, he circumnavigated the world in 1971, and it was with him in Ethiopia where he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Since moving to New Mexico from New York in 1988, David has dedicated himself to capturing New Mexico’s spirit and unmatched beauty.
With a passion for telling the story of New Mexico in captivating black and white photography, Douglas’ emotional, dramatic photographs evoke a thought-provoking, soulful response. His work re-imagines the stunning beauty of New Mexico, revealing the essence of his subjects. He constantly explores beautiful landscapes, villages and towns, art, culture, history and people through his heart and lens.
In addition to awards and wide publication, Douglas’ photographs are included in private collections in New Mexico, Colorado, California, New York, Texas, Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania and The Netherlands.
David Douglas’ exhibit Shuttering Experiences will be open to the public at the Dorothy Romo-Manning Studio & Gallery, with a Reception on Thursday, June 16, 4 pm – 6 pm, and open daily 10 am – 5 pm Thursday, June 16 through Sunday, June 19, 2022.
