Robert Nightingale
Regional Landscape Thoughts

Taos Fall Arts 2018 Visionary Artist Award Recipient. My paintings have always been dark in color and mood. I have always loved the nighttime. The sounds, the silence, the breeze. My images are local, regional (from my perspective) mixed with a collage of thoughts and moods. My palette is muddy. Playing around and trying not to think “too” much about the names of colors I apply. Just the color. I will paint, stop, look at the painting, watch a little telly, look at the painting, paint, stop, watch a little…. Here in Taos, I have been painting on and off as I made the time or when a collector calls. I studied art at Western Illinois University and Columbia College Chicago.

My business, Wilder Nightingale Fine Art, has been in business for 28 years (half my life) and I represent over 35 local and regional artists.

I’ve been on the Boards of the Taos Chamber of Commerce, The Taos Historic Museums, Taos Fall Arts, Taos Spring Arts, Taos Gallery Association and volunteered in shows and fundraisers for Celebrando Children Art Shows, High School and Middle School Art Shows, Taos Fall Arts, The Taos Mens Shelter, Stray Hearts, Child Rite and others which escape me.
